it's not. the whole assembly is red (photoshopped?).

i've actually seen a set of taillights somewhere on the net with the whole assembly being one red light. it looked pretty cool.

btw, if you do plan on doing this, make sure you leave the reverse lights white.

what i think looks pretty good (when done right) is taking the center peice out and having it fiberglassed and painted over to match the car. If you ever seen the move "Mischief" by Techidemics the yellow car that hides out in the grabage fence has a shogun bodykit and he did that to his taillights. i think it personally looks tight when you do it correctly. and since we are talking about the taillights, do you know where u can get blackouts for a 92' 240sx? YES they make them, i seen in on cardomain somewhere. i was thinking its not really for the 240 but really for the RX7 if you know more info on them, help me out i been lookin hard!

I am not a big fan of the amber lights in the back so I figured it would look better all red... so nothing a cheap mod wouldn't fix... I just thought I would share this with everyone

it's probably not "technically" legal but I doubt a cop would know or pull you over even if it was. There are tons of cars out there with red turn signals in the rear, so it shouldn't be an issue.

I love the look of the X tails, but when you are on a budget you do what you got to do. For this cheap mod all you need is a can or two of Testors Transparent/translucent Candy Apple red model paint. Get the stuff in a can like a spray paint. You can pick it up at wal-mart, K-Mart, or a hobby shop. Just take your lights out, tape them up and put a couple thin coats on it until it matches.

My brother did this to his Civic. It is also a good idea to put some kind of clear coat on there after you apply the candy apple red. To the best of my knowlege it isn't illegal as long as you leave the reverse lights white.

I know in Virginia it is not illegal to have red signal lights in the rear, but in the front they have to be amber. With everyone cruising around with euro-tails and all that crap if they were illegal.... there would be a lot of tickets given out.
