How do people perceive the Z?

I am just wondering if this has been discussed - what do other drivers think of us?I'm a new owner of a ZR of about 3 weeks. The car is completely stock so it's not like I have racing stipes or hood scoops or anything that can be considered offensive. During the past 3 weeks, I have been harassed on the road by all manner of vehicle. I'll just list a few here: Infiniti FX (this morning), BMW suv (black - typical), pickup trucks of some kind, etc. They are just the latest tailgate incidents.Even worse are the minivan and sedan drivers. They are passive aggressive. They know I'm coming up behind them and they SLOW DOWN and match the speed of the right lane intentionally boxing me in. I'm talking about women, men, young and old. If it happened once or twice, I dismiss it as lack of lane discipline. But this is like every day!I know, I know, I'm speeding, but I'm "not lose your license" speeding.... doing maybe 115-125kms/hr in a 100 zone (I'm on the expressway, not in a school zone or hospital zone DAMMIT). If I get caught, my bad, I pay the penalty. But these drivers intentionally try to put you in a bad position, like boxing you in next to a semi. On that note, I had a semi speed up the other day to block me as I was trying to merge onto the highway. WTF?????I had an RX-8 before this car and I got some of that road attitude, but nothing like this!For the record, I would be in my other car, a Maxima and doing the same kinds of speeds and never got this....My imagination? Or do other Z drivers get this too?

I have to agree with you. I have an 04 350z roadster, slightly modded but nothing to in your face. And I constantly have people trying to race me or drive like idiots around me. And mini van drivers are the worst I have to many stories of minivan dads trying to cut me off or tailgate me like bungholes.

in my mustang gt i get a lot of this BS driving and tailgating, but in my Z people stay away from me. They never ride my butt, and never have anyone try to race. Once in awhile i get a ricer rev when i turn or when i am traveling in the other direction, sometimes i turn around and catch them just because if i have the Z out its usually a joy ride anyway. But i understand the driving change in a nice car, but in my Z they stay away from me, and don't ever want to race, but in the mustang i get more mini vans riding my butt than anything..... Anything else though, its like it should be!

your not the only one bro. Whenever im on the 405 South/North I get so much much bungholes trying to pass me off/race me/stare at me and the BMW drivers young/mid age drivers trying to compare their engines to the vq35. I just pass them off with a smirk in my face and just switch crazy lanes laughing at them trying to do the same lol. But in traffic its really whatever. I see alot of Evos/Stis/M3s also in the freeway smashing but i just drive normal unless they piss me off.

this happens to me when I drive speed limit..that is why I always speed Honestly...i got really pissed at the start, wasted a lot of fuel in doing so. Eventually I said f*** it. People act like idots and tail gate..I let them. when they want to pass I let them. Dont forget our cars sit lower than most cars so our perspective from our car is lower than most. The cars behind you might not even be that close, it might just be a matter of your comfort level in the car. Most of the time when you think people are purposely doing something...usually its because the driver is just an idiot(although there are are those out to get you). In the end you can't change other peoples driving habbits, but you sure can be prepared for it. You already know there are going to be stupid drivers out there...why do spend the effort of getting anoyed. Besides they just might be admiring your car when you think they look at you.

I always get people on the streets reving their engines and wanting to race. All I have is just rims on my Z, but I always just ignore them. In a way, I do understand why people try to get crazy with me on the road. I mean, i do drive a sports car.
