how do i tighten 2001 LE alternator belt

Believe it or not(i am no mechanic) I was able myself to loosen the belt, remove the alternator,got it rebuilt, put it back on everything except that damn tensioner on the bottom. i don't remember how i loosened it to take the belt off. everything is ready now except i cant get the belt to tighten, theres the 14mm on the front of the pulley and the 12mm on the bottom of the tensioner bolt. im frustrated as hell. i am no where near a mechanic either. i am broke and trying to save money. i was told this is one of the most difficult alternators to change, well i got it, i just need to tighten the damn belt. someone please help me finish this job, it was hard as hell. thanks ahead of time.
