how do i test for afr

I wanted to know how to test for afr. I have an autometer pro comp afr gauge but I don't think that it is working properly. When the car is running and warmed up, no lights show. But when I get on the throttle, the lights almost like a tach, going from lean to rich and back down as I get off the throttle.

Those AFR gages are completely worthless for anything other than a light show.

You want a Wideband O2 system. About 300 bucks for a good one. Check out Zeitronix if you have a laptop, best bang for your buck.

my old af meter used to dance with the beat of the music oh yea no i got an aem uego works for me about 275 300 bucks cant datalog wiith it tho like the zeitronics one unless you got an aem standealone
