I had some subs and an amp in my car that the guy left in there when I bought it. Well, the subs are pretty weak and old, and one of them stopped working, so I took them out along with the amp. Now there's 4 extra wires laying in the trunk, so I want to take them out, but I've never done any audio stuff. It's probably just a matter of disconnecting them from my cd player, but I'd rather ask first than mess anything up. There's a red wire, two silver wires, and a thin blue wire. Could someone please give me some advice on how to take out the the player and disconnect the wires, but so my normal speakers still work.I have a '93 240 SE hatch, and a Pioneer cd/mp3 player. Thanks for any help.

Ok, first the wires in the trunk should be the ground, the RV cables, the remote, and the power wire from the battery. In order to take out the head unit, first you pop off the black cover piece on the center consol. Then there will be four screws that connects the head unit to the frame. Remove those and the whole unit should slide right out. The remote for the amp should be a blue wire that says remote on it. The RV cables are the red and white cables connected to the back of the head unit. Those are the only wires that need to be removed from the head unit. The ground wire is black and it will be connected to the chasis probably somewhere under the carpet. Finally the power cable, if the job was done right will lead to a hole in the firewall somewhere and then on the other side of the firewall in the engine bay it should lead to the positive side of the battery.
