How do I separate the reflector from the housing in a TYC headlight (2009 Altima)?

Old lurker here!

I'm trying to retrofit my altima with a proper OEM xenon projectors, however I'm stuck. I can't take the reflector off, it's secured with a ball and joint thing. I broke one of them (the outer one) but the other one is buried between the back of the reflector and the housing.

I pulled hard until I was afraid to break the reflector, I googled furiously with no luck. How do I take it off I'm stuck!
