So I just bought four new Polk speakers today for my S14 as all of the stock ones were blown.

The fronts went in successfully with no trouble and sound fantastic. Needless to say I really want to do my rears, but I can't figure out how to get into it.

Looking underneath everything reveals that the screws must be accessed through the top....you can't just drop the old speakers out and pop a new one through. But how in the hell do you get the speaker grill off the top of the deck? Trying to pop it off results in cracking and I'd prefer not to f' everything up.

I did run a search but was unable to find what I was looking for. Help is definitely appreciated. Thanks. :)

Sweet, thank you. I tried to pop off the cover and it was starting to crack....perhaps I'll just have to try more gently from various points.

Speakers will be installed tomorrow. :)

Note hes not talking about the speaker grills but the decklid cover. The grills are screwed in from the inside of the deck lid cover like the fronts are into the door panel.

Fold down the rear seat and yank up on the black decklid cover, in the front center of it. Its only held on with push clips. Just a nice pull up will take it up. Its really easy.

Yeah just like 96_s14 said. The whole rear dash cover just pops off, not the speaker grills. Its held in with sh**** little plastic clips (look from the underside, you'll see them) and at least 2 of them will break in the proccess, its unavoidable.
