I know I've seen this on here before, I couldn't find the dedicated thread...So do I just pop the piece off the trunk? does it clip on? glue? Any help would be great! I'm trying to really murder her out

open the trunk, pop all the push pins out of the liner on the trunk door, make sure you get them all they are a little tricky to see them all, get those 2 black rubber stopper things off with a flathead, and there are like 2-4 nuts u need to remove and it comes off

no problem man, good luck with it. you should try to black the window trim chrome also, would probably look pretty good.

I just painted my grill today. wat u guys shuld do on any metal surface is sand or use metal wool, prime it, paint it (with gloss black if you want it shiny crazyitalian) and then use clear coat over it. wat are you guys painting the chrome trim on the trunk?

I did this for my grille, I still got chips in it from the rocks and sand though

still didn't get to paint the chrome on the trunk, the weather was nasty this weekend

i actually broke it in dec of 2008 but never had insurance, in nov of 09 i got insurance and finally acted now lol.

i might be getting my roof painted so if i do i might jus throw this in there as well, if not i will be doing it myself.

how hard do u think it would be to wrap it in carbon fiber and spray clear coat over it, cause i wanted something like that done for my roof originally, but it will prob cost a fortune

I see it as doable...you just gotta make sure you lay it down with no bubbles...you might not even need to spray it depending on the material itself..sounds cool though

Wanted to do this today but I ran into a little problem...I got everything to come off except there's a blue wire attached to it that is for the trunk release, I might just tape up around it and do it right on the car, which I don't really wanna do....I re-painted my grille again instead to fix up the chips from the sand/rocks...

you have to get the rubber grommet out of the hole in the sheet metal. when you pull the chrome off after that, you should have the wire with the grommet on it so when you put it back you just push it back in. Make sure to also disconnect the trunk release wires which are ran along the inside of the trunk and hooked to the harness with, iirc, a brown clip. hope that wasnt confusing

I basically got everything off but couldn't because a blue wire was attached to it...not sure how to get around this...I might just leave it chrome...I changed my burger on the grille back to chrome to balance the back haha...I'm getting a new grille for my b-day in april though so I wanna paint this thing! maybe if I just tape it up real good and paint it right on the car?

Removing the chrome is one way to black it out but Personally I like to have the option to return the car to original condition, SO I used a good quality Carbon fiber pattern vinyl tape, If you dont want the carbon fiber look they have plain black vinyl tape too.
