I am not sure where exactly, but when ever I go over a bump I hear a squeaky noise around both A-Pillars. Could someone please tell me how to remove them. It sounds like plastic on plastic. It is really annoying. Pictures would be a big help. Thanks

If its the same noise that most of us have, then its the seatbelt rattling against the A pillar. indeed it is very annoying, but I'm not sure how much good removing the a pilllars and padding that up is gonna do!

No, its not the seatbelt noise. It seems to be closer to where the dash board and A-Pillar meet.

LOL, this is sad that we even have to try to figure out which rattle we're talking about! They should have test driven these vehicles for a a few ten thousand miles and gotten rid of all of these problems!

I have had one additional rattle where you are talking about. The little triangle piece that covers where the side mirror mounts onto the door, that was my culprit. I stuffed some padding in there and used Bquiet insulation around where it snaps into the door, and that got rid of my problem.

If that's not your problem, then sorry man, I don't know what it is. Our freaking cars have too many damn rattles!

That is exactly the round about area that it sounds like it is coming from. I will look into it. How did you get it off? Does it just pop off? I hope that does it.

you have to take the door off first, then that just pops off... there's a writeup on how to remove the door if you haven't done it yet!

The Whole Door? Or the inside Door Panel? Is it hard to get the door aligned correctly when you are putting it back on?

Also, How do you search now that the Altima Section is not on the dropdown list? WTF !!

It's about halfway down. The panel literally just pops off to reveal a harness and lots of plastic. applying damping material here helps a lot, and also keeps the mirrors from shaking so much when you crank up the bass I found out, which leads me to my next point:

Thread Hijack!!

Hey doc, so I was thinkin today while driving (scary thought) that since the side mirrors arent shaking so much with the doors dampened, that if the roof is done too that would limit the shaking of the rear view, possibly even making it usable while driving with the subs goin. Im not sure if youve done all of the bquiet yet, but if you havnt Im very interested in the result. Just a thought!

Haven't done the roof... I think it may help a bit, but no amount of sound deadener is gonna stop my T2 from shaking my car to death... You have two Type R Alpines which are equivalent to Rockford's T1's... if your system sounds as good as I think it does, my guess is you'll be in the same boat

If your seatbelt is rattling against your A-pillar - then you have likely died from a front end collision. I think you meant to say B-pillar.

P.S. Not that anyone bothers to do so - but the FSM also has remedies for noise and vibration - I beleive the topic is abbreviated NVH (noise, vibration, H - not sure what the H is for).
