i am in the middle of rebuiling the engine for turbo but i am having a problem. The oil seal is kinda old so the rear main oil seal does not want to come out. I try prying it and w/ enough force, i end up breaking it into small pieces.

The seal has a metal outer ring that holds it in there along with some tabs on the inside of the RMS housing. You need to use a flathead screw driver and start from the inside of the RMS housing. Just pry it out.. bend the metal ring if you have to. There tough to get out but the housing is pretty strong.
