How do I program multiple remotes?

Ahhh! I'm a little frustrated and I hope someone here can help me. I'm trying to program two remotes for my 94 Q45 and it's not working. Here's the steps I run through:

1. Get in car, 2. open trunk, 3. lock doors, 4. insert and remove the key at least 10 times within 10 seconds, 5. unlock and lock drivers door, and 6. then press the lock button on the remote twice.

The flashers should blink twice and one remote is activated. (This works for either remote.) Then I try to program the other remote:

5. unlock and lock drivers door, and 6. then press the lock button on the remote twice.

But nothing happens for the second remote. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I have two remotes that both work fine w/the ole' girl - try changing your #6 step to pressing once - that is the note I have on my Palm - I used these instructions with the single button press several times after power/Battery disconnects - Good Luck -

Would you believe that one of my remotes "chirps" when you press the buttons (on the remote, not the car) and the other one is silent - the joys of cadging parts where you can find 'em !

1. Close all doors and lock all doors

2. From the door switch unlock the trunk.

3. Insert and remove the key from the ignition key cylinder six times within 10 seconds. Note: -Key should be withdrawn from ignition key cylinder completely each time. -At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erase.

4. Manually unlock and lock the driver side door

5. Push any button on the new remote controller once.

If there is only one remote controller skip step 6.

6. Additional ID code entry Repeat step 4 and 5
