idling is off really bad when im at a full stop, a little over 1000rpm for a while and then drops. any tuning or technical wiring and soldering i need to do? of course i do, but what? any diagrams out there i should see or detailed descriptions? thanks in advance.

That's not off that is how a automatic ECU is programmed to idle.

You would have to modify your ECU's so that you can change the maps it uses.

If the only problem is the being high and slowly going down as you come to a stop then I wouldn't go to the trouble of modifying your ECU just for that.

If you plan on modifying your ecu for performance then you'll fix it when you upload normal manual maps anyways.

Do you have a car that was 5-speed stock or did you do a swap. Of for some reason you have a a/t ecu in your 5-speed stock car, take it out. Otherwise, if you swapped it, it shouldn't been affecting your idle. It may be another problem.

they are both the same model 93' s13. my car is a M/T and im using the A/T ecu thus eliminating my rev limiter problem and now i have an idling problem, like many do when doing the same. the car idles high because the automatic ecu thinks its in gear even when its in neutral.

i need to know how to trip the auto ecu's neutral sensing to make it think its always in neutral.

same problem here.

i have a 90 hatch and did a DE swap. used an auto ECU to do away with the speed limiter and all,,,plus the manual DE ECU i have has a blown capacitor and corrosion on the board.

mine is a little more extreme than his, if i touch the gas then let off, it idles at like 1700-1800 for a good 5-8 seconds, then settles to normal 700rpm idle. it's really annoying, and makes it hard to creep through a parking lot. if i swap in a manual ECU, it idles PERFECT, so i know it's nothing else. i've been watching for a soloution to this, and i've scoured the wiring diagrams i have, but nothing really helps. i've traced a few wires that go between the TCU and ECU, but there's no info about what signal those are relaying.

*edit*

i found this,,,,it's for an S14, so i don't know if it will work the same on the S13.

I just did this the other day, to make the ECU think the car is in neutral the whole time to fix a bunch of idle issues. I'm using a SOHC auto ECU to run a DOHC w/ 5 speed. I'll take a look at what I did and try to post it when I get home tonight.

were there any other issues you came across using the SOHC auto ECU?
