Hey everyone! Just bought my 1st 240sx ka coupe (bone stock) last weekend. It has 157k on it, and I'm wondering when I should replace the timing chain or how I can tell If I should change it.

Just my personal opnion but I would change it with that many miles. Better to do it on your schedule rather than wait for problems.

Generaly you will hear a rattle from the engine when the chain and/or guides are worn.

Consider replaceing the oil pump when you do the timing chain. Would have saved our 1st engine if we had done that.

replacing the chain is a BIG job (and expensive when replacing the oil pump too)... but the chain is intended to last the life of the vehicle.
