how do i know if my car has ABS??

i just bought a 91 240sx le this may sound stupid but im not sure if it has abs....is there someway to tell if it has it? also would having or not having abs determine the kind of lsd i want to install on it? thanks a lot

follow the brake lines if they leed to a box like thing in the bay you have abs.

If you pop your hood, look to the back passenger side of the engine compartment for a box with alot of hard brake lines coming out of it, if all you see is a empty void, then you dont have ABS.

Get going about 85 on a country road on a wet night and slam on the brakes. If you skid and crash, then you don't have ABS. If you slow down and don't skid, then you have ABS.

Hopefully it won't come to that last resort to find out

yeah, go 80 or so and then slam on the brakes. if you hear your tire squealing then you don't have abs

My car has abs. We work out with Billy Blanks every morning to get those washboard stomachs and fine toned buttocks.

Yeah. Just seriously go like 40 maybe and slam on the brakes as hard as you can, if you lock up, no ABS, if you feal the pedal surging back against you and you dont lock up, ABS. If you get a combination of both, you have a flux capacitor.

Or, uh....turn the key on. If an ABS light shows up then you got it. If not, then you don't.

Seriously, folks. Why go to the trouble of drawing a diagram and illustrating what to look under the hood for the box when there's a freakin' big "ANTILOCK" light in the gauge cluster?

No ANTILOCK light = No ANTILOCK brakes. :slap

As far as LSD choices go, ABS has nothing to do with that...it's only on the front hubs with the S13. Pick whatever diff you want.
