I have a 91Q base. My chain guides just went bad. I bought 94Qa just a couple of weeks ago in case I wanted parts. It has 140K on it with blown head gaskets. The body is pristine, as is the interior too. I bought it really cheap because I didn't need it to run. What can I do to see if the car is in decent condition outside of the engine being blown? How would I check the active suspension. the car seems incredibly stiff while sitting there, but I don't know if that's normal for that type of suspension.

I'm debating on which car to put a motor in. The 91 or the 94Qa.

Any advice???

I would do the active if it's that nice.

Never seen a 90-96 Q with blown head gaskets.................I've seen melted/warped engines from belt or water pump/rad/hose failure and bent engines from the guides..............................................sludged and starved.

Who told you the head gaskets were blown................immaterial engine swap in any case.

Q45tech, you seem to be an expert on these cars. Are you saying just go for the 94 because it's newer? I do like the front end a lot better. Call me a grill lover, but I think it looks more "normal".

What else should I try to check for before I make my decision? What can I check for might be a better way of saying it.
