how do i install strut bars?

General discussion forum about the 240sx, and a great place to introduce yourself to the board!

i just got some strut bars from rollhard.com and the ends that go on the strut tower move. i thought they werwn't supposed to move but i have never seen a strut bar before. if someone can tell me how o put them on that would be great.

They're really quite simple. Just bolt the ends to the strut towers and, if the bar is adjustable, crank that tightly too.

The circular ends will match the bolt pattern on the strut towers, if that's where you're getting confused.

thank you for the info that exactly what i wanted. oh yeah if anyone cares i got the strut bars on groupbuycenter.com for 88 bucks shipped. they are pilot motorsporsts and they came in the next day from rollhard.

No problem. You should be able to install the bar in 10 minutes or less.

My strut bar is a GReddy, and I paid around $80 shipped for it as well.

ok i actually got a chane to look in the trunk today and i can't put it in without removing the plastic lining that goes around the trunk. do i have to cut out the back of the lining near the rear seat? i guess if i got the hatchback i wouldn't have this problem.

I've got a bomz too. $31 also. It seems to be decent quality, at least not super low quality or anything. I really only drag race so I don't really care that much. I figured for $31 any improvment I get is good. I don't think it's hollow though, it's pretty heavy.

hehe yea well for s13's HB looks better but for s14's I would want the coupe, and I got my struts on ebay for 39 shipped...

Like the look of the coupe, but it would be nice to have that hatch every so often.... can't fit **** in to the trunk... and the back seat is about useless anyway

Yeah i have pilot motorsports strut tower braces front and rear in my fastback, they made a noticeable difference. good price too, less then a 100 for both. took forever to get here though
