How do I install a passenger mirror on a 2001 QX4

Hello:

I'm going to my brothers to install a passenger side mirror on his wife's 01 QX4.

What tools do I need?

I see the mirror mount has a plastic cover on the inside of the the door. Does that just pop off? I don't want to break anything

You mean the mirror on the outside of the passenger'sdoor so the driver can see what's on the right side of the truck?

I thought those were required since forever. My '87PF had them, my '95 PF had them, my '01 PF has them.

My apologies. The question should have been: "What tools do I need to replace a mirror on a 01 QX4?"

And the answer is:

Once you get the @#$%^&&(##@ door panel off, it takes about a minute to R&R.

Once you remove the door panel, that little black plastic cover on the interior just pops right off, just give it a little pull and it should come off easily. Then you can see the bolts which hold the mirror on. The wiring harness for the mirror is plugged in farther down on the door, you can follow the wires which come from the mirror down to the harness.
