my bulbs in the heater control console dont light up, at least the ones that light up the buttons to see which way the air is going.. so im taking it apart today and i cant figure out how to access the bulbs..heres a pic of the back:

basically i think the black thing (where the turning knob attaches to in front) needs to come off first cause it seems to block the green cicruit board from lifting up, and the brown one seems attached to it..

but i cant get anything to budge in thre, i took out all the screws i saw (2 in the back)

Haha, I have the same problem with my S14 climate control. When it doesn't light up (usually), I just beat the crap out of it and eventually it turns on :)

It would be nice to actually fix it though.

Pinch the white clips in the brown board to pull it up then there are three blue screw/plasticy thingys those are the bulbs. I had same problem just studied the FSM for awhile and figured it out.
