How do I get the Selg Diagnostic to work?

Hi guys. I have an 89 240sx and the worthless book tells me that on the ECU there is supposed to be a self diagnostic screw as well as a red and green light. Mine does not have this! Is there some other way to activate the self diagnostic mode?

yes it does. pull the ecm off the body and flip it around while its still plugged in. you will see the screw and the lights.

ahh, yes its there. Is there anything u don't know about 240's :-) thanx for the help as usual and i hope u never get bored of answering newbie questions as i will undoubtedly keep asking

Oh there is quite a bit I still dont know, but my knowledge isnt just based on 240s. It is on all nissan products equally. Been a nissan dealer tech for over 10yrs.
