HOW DO I GET ACCESS TO LEFT BRAKE LIGHT TO CHANGE BULB?

I AM TRYING TO REPLACE THE DRIVERS SIDE LEFT TAIL BRAKE LIGHT. I FIGURED THAT I COULD GET TO IT FROM THE TRUNK BUT THERE IS NO ACCESS. IS THE PLASTIC BODY PIECE BETWEEN THE LAMP ASSEMBLY AND TRUNK LID REMOVEABLE? AND IF SO, HOW DO I REMOVE IT WITHOUT CAUSING DAMAGE? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. P.S. I CHECKED THE OWNERS MANUAL ALREADY AND IT OFFERS NO HELP

You need to remove the "plastic panels" that cover the back of the trunk. The clips should pop out.

Yes, remove the carpeting and look at this pic below:(remove the nuts not the bolts, sorry!)Also note that the car colored plastic piece on the right side of the tailight (in the pic below) is part of the tailight assembly. Pull it all out together.
