I am trying to buy a S13 coupe shell and I found one but it is far from here and it doesn't drive

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? What would be the best way to get the car here?

well the only way, is shipping of some sort

a flatbed would be the cheapest way, unless you got a buddy with a truck n big enough trailer to haul it

Rent a four wheel trailer from Uhaul to put the car on. Grab a friends truck/SUV or something with a hitch. Then load up on mass amounts of energy drinks and junk food. Take a road trip down there and drive that sucker back. Make sure you can secure the car to the trailer. You can make the trip in less than 14 hours if traffic allows it. I used to drive from Colombus, GA to Binghamton, NY and it took me about 13 hours at the fastest and 18 at the longest (4 accidents in a row in VA)....Good Luck!!

Anyone have a ballpark figure on how much a flatbed would cost?

I'm going to look into the U-Haul Idea tommorow. I bet a four wheel trailer wouldn't run that high. Road trip would be fun, too.

Well when I drove from GA to New York I took 85 to 77 to 81, I avoided 95 at all costs (too many ppl drive that way). I also didn't let my speed get down below 80mph as much as possible. As for knowing he can do 700 in 14 hrs. that's just my rough estimation. Here is my basic route I took:

a flatbed might run you a grand? if its more than a 1day deal(thats a figure from my area, South Eastern PA)

that does look like a decent route to NY, i might ahve to try that route when i go to Florida in March. now that i tihnk about it, fastest "trip" i ever went on was with my father, from my house to O.C. Maryland. usually takes about 3.5hours, we made it there in 1hr 24minutes on motorcycles at 2am, speed averaged about 135-140, except on teh bay-bridge, ef that

its be cheaper to get a dolly or whatever they're called, where its just two wheels and you just put two wheels on the trailer and the other two of the car are on the ground. Thats what I used, I forgot exactly how much it was but we rented it in Florida and returned it here in Chicago, I think it was like $50 but not too sure on that.

not a bad idea D1, but if he means a shell with nothing but a body, he cant do that (hence no back wheels) but im sure he wasnt meanin a bare shell

Jeez.....that's crazy but it sounds kinda scary fun...Yeah that Route I took avoided alot of the major city traffic except Atlanta, which was pretty unavoidable. I think it was driving on 77 thru Virginia was kinda boring. The whole 13 hours I saw no cops too and it seemed like everyone was speeding so that helped out alot too.

Long long long curves on two lanes that seem to go back and forth, with some straights and really flat *(VA)*. I liked driving thru SC because it was like going up and down with alot of nice curves. Good scenery too..lol

I think you'll like it better than 95. You'll have to let me know what you think when you get back.

U-Haul Trailer!! Don't get the 2 wheel dolly(DANGEROUS!!!), I am a firefighter and I have seen accidents with cars being towed by dollys. Not Pretty. I towed my 240 from Boston to My home in York PA(about 500 miles) using a U-haul trailer. It worked out great. Only about $100 for the trailer(oneway). Get the trailer where the car is! IMPORTANT: reserve a trailer a few days before you go!! CALL THE STORE WHERE YOU ARE PICKING IT UP AT THE DAY BEFORE YOU LEAVE TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THE TRAILER AND THAT THEY WILL BE OPEN WHEN YOU GET THERE!! Trust me, I know from expeience. They had my trailer, But U-Haul negleted to tell me the store I was picking the trailer up at closed at noon on saturdays!!

A flatbed is expensive. I see signs for them sometimes for like $2/mi... 700 miles, ouch. Get a 4 wheel trailer, not the 2. The twos wander to much, it can get nasty.

i got my car shipped from San Diego to Atlanta for $995 on a big transport trailer. it had no motor or trans and they were fine with it. just make sure you tell them that the vehicle is not operational. the best thing is all you have to pay is the deposit and the will pick it up and the rest will be payed cod. so if you need some time to the get the rest of the money up you can, as long as you got it before they get there. plus they insure your vehicle so if something does happen they are responsible and not you.
