sorry its an early r32 rb26dett, so the oil pump is prone to fail. im looking to fix this issue, do i have to buy a newer crank, is there a retro-fit kit for this ? i know jun has a collar for this but im not sure if it will help, or is it designed to only work with thier pump ? .

jun collar will solve the problem, but there are other alternatives such as using a r33 crank, or getting one off of one of the guys on skylines downunder; forget who it is but one guy makes them for the early rb26 cranks and is very fair on pricing.

you can use the pump that was on there, all the collar does is extend the pump drive gear.......however you may find that the pump will not fit properly, i think nissan redesigned the pump to accomodate the new drive, dont remember tho.

The collar will fit EITHER pump, the older or the newer. You need to machine down the snout of the crank, heat the collar & slide it in place, then lock it in with some set screws... Its a cake deal but the collar costs like $150-$175 depending on where you get it. I just had one, but I sold it as it wasnt needed.

i have a late r32 crank collar w/o the problem.. talk to a crank shaft shop and get material welded to extend the drive area.

I got a guy to weld extra material to my r32 rb26 crank to extend the oil pump drive flats. Reason why I went this route is because the collar was over $150 and then I would have had to machine down the crank and press on the collar. This was going to cost around 250 total. He told me it would cost 150 to weld to it then machine it down. I liked that idea much better cause the collar looks like a band-aid not really a perminate fix IMO. Just a side note... I have just recently found out that the early series 1 rb25s have the same oil pump dive flat problem as the early rb26s. Let me know if you want the info on the shop I used. I have sent several people their way.

im gonna venture a guess that nissan used the rb25de cranks from the r32 on the early r33 rb25det's which is why some have the problem and others dont.

I highly doubt anyone here has one for the 26. Try RB motoring. I know they sell them for 250.

http://crankshaftspecialist.net/ The number is on their web site. The owners name is Doug Rowe. He is the guy you will need to talk to. You will need to send your oil pump with the crank.
