HOW DO I FIX IDLING PROBLEMS ON MY 1990 S13(KA24E)

WHEN I START MY CAR IT IDLES ROUGH AND WILL DIE OUT IF I DONT GIVE IT ANY GAS, BUT WHEN I DO GIVE IT GAS AND WARM IT UP FOR A FEW SECONDS OR SO ITLL STAY ON BUT IT IDLES ROUGH. WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THE MOTOR NOT HAVE A ROUGH IDLE I HEARD IT CAN PUT IN ANOTHER GROUND HOSE AND JUST PUT EXTRA TAPE AROUND THE ORIGINAL HOSE BUT I NEED A MORE SPECIFIC ANSWER HELP ME OUT HOMIES.

1. why did you make your entire post in caps? 2. if you're having a rough time at startup with idle, have you checked over the posts that involve cleaning the iacv? 3. adding more grounds can smooth out an idle, but assuming that all the necessary grounds are there, will not keep your motor from dying out on you. 4. last time doing a tune up that invovled setting the timing right, calibration of the tps, and replacement of the cts and a general cleaning of the mafs?5. if you've a sohc, have you checked that rubber hose that's just before the throttle body and after the plastic intake hose? are there cracks in the ribs or a tear in the hose at the ribs?

could you elaborate on that "extra tape around the original hose" which hose?

what was done during the tune up was really nothing they just checked the timing, belts, and changed the spark plug, and i believe the extra tape around the hose refers to the hose that connected to the iaa valve

I am having the exact same problem with my 240 but it has an sr20det and it was fine a week ago when we built it. I am very dissappointed and want to fix it before it does. Please help, thank you for your time.

anyways... heres a list of things you can do to check- AICV- TPS- MAFS- vacuum leaks

What is the ACIV again? I have already checked timing and the MAFS.

air idle control valve. refer to your factory service manual (assuming that you already downloaded one)

well for the sohc, it's at the back of the intake manifold, the sr it's at the top of the collector below the 3rd and 4th runner. That one sucks to get to.
