I think I may have pushed the wrong sequence of buttons on my door remote, or dropped it 8' to the ground, and somehow activated the anti-theft system which locked out the starter circuit. Everything inside the car works when I turn the key but no sounds (click) from the starter. Also tried jumpstarting and she would not turn over. I had this same problem 4 or 5 months ago after fiddling with the remote in my pocket but have not had any issues with the starting system before this and the battery is less than a year old.

I've been troubleshooting per the FSM and searched here. All I've come up with is a simple sequence of locking and unlocking with the remote or the key and none of this has worked. I know Wes has doled out the correct sequence more than once but can't seem to find the thread.

Anybody recall the correct lock/unlock sequence for this? Thanks in advance.

If all else fails find the starter Inhibitor relay [thieft warning relay] and bypass or make sure the starter relay has +12 volts or send +12 to the ignition switch...........study FSM diagram.

Thanks for your replies. After a couple of hours I tried the lock / unlock sequence with the key with no success but an hour after that she fired right up. I've been reading up on starter issues tonight and I'm leaning towards the problem being the starter relay and not dropping my remote fob. The relay is a pretty cheap part so hopefully the local dealership will have it in stock tomorrow.

Did the starter relay work because my car has the same issue. It is stuck in anti-theft mode.
