How do I disable the door closed beeps?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hey guys, had my '08 EX for a few months now and love it. Only thing driving me crazy is that every single time I close any door or the hatch, it beeps 3 times. It's annoyed me since I got the car, but just dealt with it as I thought it was an Infiniti thing...until tonight that is. Oddly enough, after a few weeks in my EX, the wife realized just how firm her 135i is and wanted to get out of it. We now have matching EX's in the driveway...ok, maybe not exact matches as hers is nicer, but when I closed her door tonight I noticed the beautiful silence. No beeping. So now I realize it's not normal and can be turned off. Does anyone know how to do this? I already deactivated the lock/unlock beep, so it's not that. It's just this constant for close triple beep. Any help would be super! Thanks

OK, that would drive me insane too! Whoever owned mine before I bought her must have had that done already because mine has never beeped at me... Same with the 'fasten seatbelt' chime. I have nothing but the dashboard light to remind me. When I had the RDX, it would have a nice female voice come over the speakers asking you to 'Please fasten your seatbelt" and if you ignored it, it would chime constantly and annoyingly. Needless to say, it sure made me fasten my seatbelt!

I hope someone can help you with your 3X door beep ! Actually, I find it fun to look - so I will try too.

- OK, edited to add... I searched the manual by keywords and only found one reference to beeping / chiming 3 times. Not sure this would apply to your situation or not?

"Symptom:
When closing the door after getting out of the vehicle:
The NO KEY warning appears on the display, the outside chime sounds 3 times and the inside warning chime sounds for approximately 3 seconds...

Possible cause:
The ignition switch is in the ACC or ON position."

The manual has it in some place or call the dealer.

Well thank guys for pointing out my stupidity. Guess I never realized it's a key warning. Just got so used to never touching the darn key I never even thought about that. Did some quick testing today and you are both correct. That warning is displayed followed by 3 beeps after closing the door with the vehicle running and the key in my pocket. Last night the wife had the key and I got out first, so no beep. Crisis diverted! lol

Thanks again! :)
