i'm pretty new to turbocharged applications and i'm having a hard time trying to figure out which turbo is going to suit my needs the best. the main purpose of my car will be for drifting. the car will be a dedicated track car. i'm looking for a turbo that will give me quick response and help produce around 200-250hp max right now. ive been reading about different turbos that people are using on their CA, but its difficult trying to determine which one i will be happy with the most. i understand that it can be a trial and error process and that everyone has their own idea of what an ideal setup is. I also know that other mods (injectors, AFC, anything else?) will be needed to support the extra air i'm cramming in there. can anyone give me some tips to make this decision a little easier? thanks for reading.

IMHO the best turbo for your application would be an SR T25 at about 12-14psi, OR an S15 T28 on the stock manifold at about 10-12psi. The T28 will make more power, but is kinda laggy. It's real bad if you use the SSAC manifold. If you keep the stock manifold it's not too bad. The SR T25 on the stock manifold is a very responsive setup and will get you right at the power level that you're looking for.

190rwhp? What PSI? That seems pretty low.

thanks for the info. would i need to upgrade the injectors or anything else when putting one of those turbos on? how do i determine when i would need to do something like that? i apologize if these are noob questions, but i want to make sure i do this right and i want to be able to know when i would need to upgrade other aspects of the engine to support different mods. thanks again.

I think a larger MAFS and some 470cc injectors would be a good idea.

Have you read the upgrade guide in the FAQ?

yes, a few times actually lol. it tells me about which parts to upgrade, but not about how to determine when to upgrade them and how to figure out when certain parts have reached their operating limits. ive got LOTS of learning to do lol
