ok well...I've had my 240 for 4 years now. Pretty sure I'm used to the RWD besides the fact its the only car I've ever owned.

Two words...trail braking. You're most likely understeering because of your driving, not because of your car. In fact, when you start autocrossing, you should leave the car stock and concentrate on driving for a while until you get better. Then you should modify the car to make it faster, but only after you've got some experience.

You're probably entering into the corners too fast without enough weight transferred to the front tires. You'll just push to the outside of the corner, and if you hit the gas, you'll just push more. The trick is to brake before the corner, and gradually let off the brakes some as you are turning into the corner. You want to keep the front end of the car down, so the front tires get as much traction as possible. If done right, the front tires will dig in, and the back tires will brake loose just a little because there isn't much weight on them. This helps the car rotate through the corner faster.

It's said that whoever spends the most time going straight wins the race, so you just want to get through those corners as fast as possible.

i agree with ziggy. keeping your car as stock as possible will be best to start out. "Exit speed is more important than entry speed." you'll want to brake before the turn to get through the turn quickly to accelerate. if you brake through a turn, you'll be wasting good acceleration time at the exit on a straight line.

and try that chalk trick. try putting 4 chalk marks on each of the 4 wheels on part of the tread/sidewall before your run. If there's chalk on the tread, then you'll want to take air out. If there's chalk on the sidewall, you'll want to pump your tire up. You should do this before every run
