I was wondering on how can I check on a transmission before I buy it, to see if is in good contion or that it does not have any problems and to see from what year is it from. ThanksBTW: Do you guys think that $200 for a transmission with flywheel and a worn clutch is worth it, or is it too much.

Check for shaft play on the input shaft. Spin it and make sure you hear no grinds or anything... I paid $150

i usually sell my 5 speed transmissions for 500. check to see if it goes in all gears, and make sure the input shaft doesnt have too much play.
