How do I change the bypass hose on a 1997 pathfinder.

I'm looking for an easy way, if any one knows one. I got the top hose clamp loose but can't quit reach the bottom one.

Thanks, JoeBear

No, the Bypass hose goes into the top of the block after a manifold with sensors that comes from the upper radiator hose.

I am not sure what you are describing, so can you be more accurate, do you have a picture or sketch.

Off hand do you mean the PVC circuit, engine coolant sensor ? Look in your manual under EC 9, does that page show what you want?

This hose is a part of the coolant system. It is about 1"ID, 1.5 OD in a 90 deg config. about 3" on each leg. Located to the left and below the distributor up against the back of the timing belt cover.

Just to be clear, is the sensor the coolant temperature sensor? You can verify this with your manual EC9 layout page.

Your description is not helping me. The 97 Pathfinder and QX4 may be slightly different , I do not know, but in looking at what I have with my 97 Q I need to be certain of what your asking.

Per pg EC9 the coolant sensor is left of the distributor, and lower, behind A/C and PVC piping.
