Hey guys first off Let me say how glad I am to be apart of the Nissan club. I'm new to this, bought my first 240sx and I got to change my belts. I'm having trouble taking off the alternator and compressor. Will appreciate any help

Both the alternator and the A/C compressor have a tension adjuster. Back off the tension by adjusting the tensioners. Now the belts come off easy. Here's a picture:

Its my first time doing this, Im learning as I go along. I want to know how to do the work on my car. Its pretty nice. 92 nissan with the hicas leather seats. any other suggestions?

I had the same problem on mine...... use a crowbar to push the pulley or alternator that did it for me....... or sumtimes just pull on it with both hands..... sumtimes they are just stuck

for the alternator, make sure you have loosened 3 things. the tension bolt has to be backed off for the alt to move.

look up alternator and belt in tutorial link in my signature for pictures etc

yea, those things can realy be a pain in the a**. just try to make sure u loosen up all the bolts that u can.and if u plan on drifting at all, and ur hicas actually works, it will not work in your favor FYI.

It's me again, got the belts replaced. The car has been sittin there for about 2 years before i bought it. I replaced the water pump, power steering pump. Ignition tumbler was broken too. got the car started then a little hose broke, powersteering. to add to my list of problems the car wouldn't start after I fixd the hose. Checkd plugs and saw excess gas on them, replaced wires, and still nothing. this morning I pull the injectors and replaced o rings on two, broke one and found a faulty injector. Those things are pain in the neck!!!! replaced the 2 broken injectors and fuel filter put everything back together, and it still didnt start!!! Won't turn over. I'm taking a break before I lose it I'm learning as I go along but seriously I haven't test drove the car yet!! I did get it 4 cheap tho. It did run and the motor sounds great, I could't test drive then b/c i had no brakes yet. i'm still glad i got rid of my honda tho.
