Have you had any parts replaced? Has the vehicle had any type of body damage or repair? What year model and type of vehicle?

yes the car has been in in an accident. front and rear...but air bags were not deployed...1995 j30

You'll need to read the codes to find out what's broken. Probably a sensor or something left disconnected during the repairs. I don't have the service manual for a J30, but you may have one in your trunk. If not, maybe someone can walk you through it.

That light is on for you reason, these guys are right you need to get it connected to the computer. Some part of the system is malfunctioning and needs attention. You could just disconnect the light if you don't care about your airbags deploying.
