I am needing help in how to change out the cv axles on the 1998 AltimaI am new at this and trying to save a little money... could anyone give me some tips on how to change them out and if I would need any special tools

First thing you need is a service ,manual. In it you will see pictures and details about the repair. Its not that hard but doing it the first time will require most of a day

It's not that difficult. The toughest part is getting the axle actually off the car. You'll also need to be aware of the brackets that are holding parts of the axles in place, and possibly an impact wrench to get the axlenut off. Don't forget to get new cotter pins.

You are right. Replacing the struts would be harder dont you think so?
