Ok all you RB25 professionals out there . Which way did you guys install your RB25 in your s13?

Option 1; Raised the front of the car and installed the motor from the bottom up with the crossmember already attached to the motor?

Option 2; Normal install (raised the back of the car and installed the motor with a cherrie picker?

If you guys did option 1......how did u raise the car?

If you guys did option 2......how hard was it to install being that the motor is so freaking HUGE!!!?

Before I start the second question, let me first tell you that the rb is going in my 93 s13 that originally had a ka dohc (the ka dohc is still sitting in the garage)....now for my question.....I dont have the oxygen sensor that came with my rb25 front clip. Therefore, Im sitting here asking all you guys if my ka dohc oxygen sensor will work or not?

I put my motor in from the top in. I couldn't get the car high enough to do it from the bottom. My jack stands only go so high.

my jack stands were fine... they were the big 3 ton ones that could go pretty high.

i went in from the top, easy as pie.

to make it easier, i had the crank pulley off the motor and the radiator out of the car. dropped right in

I lifted my car up on my lift, wheeled the engine/trans/x member under and lowered the car on it.

Best method, trust me

i find it easiest going from the bottom, put the car on the larger stands, it will clear the motor to slide under.use one of theseorboth can take 1000lb load

I placed the motorset on a few steelies with tires, then used the two front tow hooks as lifting points and raised the car with my engine hoist.. You need lots of people to make sure nothing tips or goes at an odd angle..

I installed into an S12 though (200sx) and it is physically impossible to lower it from the top unless its at a fairly extreme entrance angle, and definetly without transmission.

From the bottom is easier. No more than 20 minutes by myself.

Same but rb20 into s14.

And VW Golf to drag the ka out of the garage and slid a pallette with the rb under the car and voila.
