How many of you guys out there are running a stock rb25det side mount i.c.? I was looking at my car (93 240 w/silvia front end) last night and while I was holding up the stock rb25 side mount intercooler in the fender, Im not even sure if its going to fit all up in there or not! . Those of you who do, do u guys have any pictures of how u mounted it? anything??

Put it away and buy a fmic. RB's run hot as it is already, you don't want a heat soaked smic.

the side mount are crap and even if mouted right it makes the car look like *** from all the cutting you have to make it fit to run the 2 ic pipes to that one side.

i had no issues running the SMIC once i had the duct for the front of it.if you have the money, by all means, get a FMIC. it does kinda suck taking a sawzall to your car, but you really dont have to cut out that much, and if you get a good piece of rubber trim to cover the jagged edges the sawzall leaves, you're all good.

I mounted the SMIC using the heavy duty wire used to hold my engine set to the pallate it came on. it was FTW!!!!!!

Junk it, after installing FMIC, power was noticeable better, and response was the same.
