how come every sr i see (even on here), doesnt matter if they did the swap in June-02 (or before) all SRs have 40-50k miles on them? i have never seen anyone say that they have more miles than that on them? dont they all come with ~40k on them when you get them? are they that bad about breaking that no one puts miles on them? or are people lying?

From my understanding, the whole reason we have half cuts is based on Japanese tax laws. Everyone says that after a certain age, its cheaper or more cost effective to buy a new car than continue owning your old car. I cant imagine paying a higher tax rate after a car passes a certain mileage. Maybe it just remains the same tax level, regardless of the year of the car and mileage. If I had to pay the same tax for a Z31 that guys pay for a 350Z, the new Nissan would look mcuh more attractive.

Could be why S13, S14, and S15 SR all seem to have 40-50k miles...

maybe im reading this wrong but i think what he is asking about is the reliablity of the SR engine. why is it that all these ppl still only have 40,000 miles on that engine even if they have had it for a year.

If im wrong, dont worry its normal

It's true. It makes for better economy & environment. Meaning more people will have to buy newer cars to pay cheaper taxes.
