It's a thing called a governor, should have gotten a 3.5

The governor for cars in America are set at the original tire speed specs. The original tire on the 2.5 is a 215/60-16 94S. S is the speed rating which is controlled by the DOT. S = safe speeds up to 113 mph, therefore the governor is set at 113. The 3.5's come with 215/55-17 94H. H= safe speeds up to 130 mph. Therefore the governor for the 3.5 is set at 130. Make sense now?

Good to know, thanks for the info adidas.

That is weird how that works out, wow so that means that my car will only do 113mph, lol

I thought the cvts were governed at 113, and the 6mt at 125 or something like that. guess i was wrong.

yes, an ecu upgrade would lead towards performance upgrades which raise RPM levels, remove the governor, increase fuel pressure. That kinda thing.

Stillen is working on making there already popular QR25DE piggy back, the QR Pro, produce in the 2.5 Altima Coupe. I'm not sure however if their system removes the governor or not.

Right, the governor is at 135, Im sure Nissan can raise the governor to 135 without the DOT caring. Cause who is supposed to be going 130 anyways, ya know?

when your car gets finished, you gotta come on out to Cali... I wanna see you and adidas2go race (legally at a track)... that would be the first ever race between a Manual turbo A/C and a CVT turbo A/C... (has to be since Adidas will have the only CVT turbo 3.5 A/C in existence... well at least that we know of)

my guess is that, all things considered, in a quarter mile with the same amount of boost, the CVT would win since it would not lose power like the turboed manual when shifting gears... what do you think? In any case, I can't wait to see both of your cars finished... when will they be finishing up your car anyway 08altima35? ?

when jwt comes out with their internals, clutch, flywheel, etc i should be able to run 13 psi for racing at the track. that will be wicked fast, but launching is going to take some serious skill in a fwd. adjustable coil overs could help out with the launch and gear change squat, but only so much. if adidas and i meet up and race we will have to first race from a 20 roll and then from a stand still. i think he might have the advantage on a 20 roll if he can keep his rpm up, but i think i'd have the advantage at a track from a stand still because of throttle control that comes with having a clutch. whatever the outcome it would be interesting all the same and hells yeah to boosting the altima coupe regardless of transmission.

Thats gonna be way faster than me. I'm not trusting this CVT with anymore than 7psi. Your drive train is only as strong as your weakest link So no release date for your coupe yet huh?

I'm sure there's an easy way to just override the top speed without replacing the ECU... For Motorcycles, it's called a TRE. I have one on my Suzuki but since I haven't had the need to go over 185 mph, the current top speed limit for motorcycles, I really haven't had a chance to test it...

Theres really not. Its all computer programming in the ECU. Either a piggyback system has to override the ECU or the ECU has to be "reflashed", a process of erasing the ECUs' coding and reprogramming it.

i've spoke with and emailed the jwt engineers and they have plans to make stronger internals, clutch, and flywheel for the a/c's, but it's prolly not going to happen until sometime late this year or early next.

if we ever race of course will be boosting the same psi. is your kit gonna have a dash mounted boost controller?i'm hoping i'll be free on wednesday to go pick her up. i have the bodykit, and eibachs, sittin' in my garage ready for install. i gotta be done with both of those by june 6th if my cars going to make the dub show on the 7th which i've already promised my employer the car for their booth.

Not in the dash, but we will be installing a boost controller in the cabin. most likely in the space beside the VDC button. So weird, I signed up for the DUB show a couple months ago for when it comes to LA in early August. I guess great minds think alike Your coupe should look very nice and clean by then

Reflashing the ECU requires the technology to reprogram it. The car itself is one big computer. If one module doesn't have the exact right signal its looks for from another, things go wrong. Reflashing an ECU takes an incredible amount of resources, technology, and permissions. As far as I know, only a few companies have the technology to break into and successfully reprogram the coding for late model Nissans. Stillen is one of them.

Well this topic has been brought up to Stillen many many times over the past 4-6 months. Stillen is still testing and seeing if the QR Pro is fully compatible with the a/c QR25DE, like I stated earlier.

NJ cops make LI cops seem like they are cub-scouts... I feel like the NJ LEO's get lashings if they come back from a shift with any tickets left in their book
