Ohmed my knock sensors the other day and found my harness and sensors were out. So I did the dreaded under plenum service and the valve covers. Not fun, but not hard either. You can see the 1k changes are a benefit! The job was kind of premature with only 85k but needed to be done becauseof the ks'sWhen I had the covers off I thought why not glass bead them? Thats not paint. Turned out clean. All done!

Absolutely gorgeous, superuber.Congrats on the great job.

I'm having my F50 detailed by European Detail Specialists here in Phoenix (the guys who do cars for Barrett-Jackson) in a few weeks. It will be very clean, but I doubt as pretty as yours.

I'm a little jealous.

Here is my engine after European Detail Specialists did mine. Same place StarPD is going. Wish it still looked like that. This was about a year and a half ago.

very, very nice--internals too!i like the glass bead, tell us more about it---was thinking to polish the aluminum and use some vht hi-temp clear coat on my plenum and vc's, but not sure it's worth that much hand labor.

glad to see you ditched the SAE R6 fuel hose. that is a no-no for the FI.

What does it take to make the pipes on the top (what the heck are those called again, brain fart preventing me from thinking of it) red?

The plenum is what you are referring to I believe. It would take a lot of sanding I think. I'd like to do that myself, not sure I have the patience tho.

Hey Superuber, what grit glass bead did you use for those. I have 80 grit in my blast cabinet and was thinking of doing the same thing when I get mine off here in the next few weeks to do my plenum/valve cover gasket job. I also have a polisher and was thinking about trying to polish them while I had them off.

Actually it's powder coated not painted. Candy apple red with glass coat over it. It's beautiful!

Glass beads are in my blast cabinet. You can use them instead of sand. different mediums give different results. very smooth with beads.I used 80 grit beads. I quess you could polish it but lots of work!

Can you eat off of it? Looks like you can. I used to do this to my cars.

I can give you guys a tip so you don't have to scub.

The people I bought the car always changed the oil on time and they did it themselves.

Very nice!

BTW if oyu see ricks car in person the red plenum looks a lot more fitting in person. In the pics, i thought it looked really stupid but in person it fits with all the other shiney stuff on the car. Plus his car looks especially amazing next to mine
