a buddy of mine wants to sell me a innovative wideband unit lc-1. he says it has a bad sensor but i dont think he really know. lol how can i tell. is there any way i can do any ohm readings? any way i can clean it. i have 2 5 wire sensors that plug right in and 3 4 wire sensros (that are still wideband sensors) i dont think they will work though cause they are missing a wire.

How about plugging it into a car thats tuned? Otherwise email/call Innovative and ask how to tell if your sensor is bad.

Get a new sensor, plug it in, calibrate in free air.

pull the sensor connector out of the brainbox. turn the key on for 20 seconds resets the heater calibration). then plug the o2 sensor back into the brainbox and let it sit in free air for 2 minutes. that will recalibrate the heater and o2 sensor and tell you if its good or bad.

Mine has a cal button and it does a diagnostic everytime you turn it on...LM1 FTW.

I dont have a LM1 or any of the innovative products, but i have glowshifts Elite series wideband (all analog), they have a calibration button that you are supposed to hit pretty much every oil change.. they claim if you do that, the gauge should work for several years, giving accurate readings.

But thus again, its not an innovative...
