im about to replace ac display and the complete middle console panel is coming off.

last time i saw there was a lot of room behind the flimsy plastic panels and thought there could be something i can use as sound deafening device.

some kind of padding that some stereo shops use.?if anyone has tried, can someone give advice on whats most effective in interior noise reduction?

i also have a slight wind noise coming from the top of driver side window.

what other things can one do to make the q as silent as possible?

looking forward to some comments.

Add insulator. We had a great and detailed discussion on this exact subject a few weeks ago.

Execute a NICO search for it (red button extreme right top of forums display If you dont find it someone here who remembers where the thread is, at might even link it for you.

If you take the driver's door panel off you can adjust the window up slightly to get rid of the wind whistle. Sometimes glycerin will soften up the rubber seal and that might help.

I'm pursuing using Soundcoat materials for my Q (see my recent thread titled 'Sounding Dampening').

I'm meeting with the local sales rep Saturday morning to go over possible uses for their products. They also have a web site.

My way is the "cheap way"...

I drive my 4x4 with the mud-terrains for awhile.

Q45 suddenly gets a lot quieter. :D

But really, in general you may also want to inspect the rubber sealing not just around the top of the window, but also around the doors, and if you have one, the sunroof. Those will lose their resiliency over time and let that "loud" wind to seep between the cracks.

911/Q45-

Is the procedure to adjust the window obvious, or could you elaborate?
