In my Infiniti I30 1996 non-touring how do I know if I have limited slip. I know I can do a 2-wheel burnout, but it feels like one wheel will slip on ice. Thank You

Edit: My trans. code is RE4F04A FN36. Hopefully that helps!

All Canada Maxima ES's and I30s have VLSD...

You do have VLSD because all I30s have it... Lucky...

but remember you don't have 100% wheel power to both wheels all of the time. VLSD works a bit different from say a Posi-rear end. You will be able to use both at once in like a burn out and such but Ice is a bit different... Both use clutches and those clutches can slip if it is way too hard for the other side to move. IT is a part of the differential action, even for a VLSD.

The easiest way to tell if you have a VLSD trans is to look at the data tag on the firewall near the passenger side of the car. If it ends with a "V", then you have a VLSD.

Sorry - the RE4F04A transmission code is for the open-differential model. The VLSD has the "RE4F04V" code... I've installed one in my '99 Maxima.
