Hey guys, how can I play my DVDs in the front dash while I'm driving? I have a 2007 m45 sport.

If your car had this option, there will be a DVD player inside your center console. The unit inside the glovebox is for NAV and bluetooth only - it will not play DVDs.
Second, even if you have the DVD player in your console, the player is designed to work ONLY if the car is in P, and the park brake is ON. To get around that, you need to hack the system. Search NAV HACK in the forum and you should be able to find others who have done it.

If you DO have the DVD player in the center console look up www.strictlygz.com he sells the plug and play nav hack system for about $135-$140. It is very easy to install and you do not cut any wires!! I currently have that but for the 08+ hard drive system!! I originally did the old style nav hack on my previous M45 and it cost me $180 but I've heard of others being charged up to $300!

Yes, it comes with basic install guide in Japanese (with pictures) plus he will usually email you further instructions! 30 to 45 minutes tops. 06/07 install is through glove box. :bigthumb:

Forgive the possibly dumb question but ... I have the DVD player in my glovebox and I also have NAV. Will the StricrlyGs set-up work for me as well? Or is it just for those who do NOT have the DVD player already?

The DVD in your glove box IS your NAV system. 2006 to 2007 M's have a DVD based navigation map system. The NAV hack discussed will not help you play DVD's in your car.

OI !!!!!!!! I meant the player in my console. Sorry for the confusion. I'm wondering if that part will also work on a car that has NAV in the glovebox and player in the console.

*All 06/07 that have Navigation are dvd based systems coming from the glove box.
*The DVD player for TV entertainment system with 5.1 digital surround sound will be in your center console.
Finally: Yes
* This plug and play harness described here will work!!
Only difference is the connection will be done through the glove box area.
*On hard drive systems of the 08+ M's and G's etc. The harness connects to the main head unit. (Mine is like this) easy :dblthumb:

Fyi: the two harness ARE DIFFERENT! Be sure to specify yr and dvd based system or hard drive system! :bigthumb:

Thank you for confirming that! I have some brilliant DVDs of concerts that I would like to play through the DVD player with the cinema surround. For the record, I would NOT watch any video whilst driving, nor do I recommend doing that.

You don't need the hack to play DVDs, without it, you just can't see them on the front screen unless you are stopped with emergency brake on. This might be a problem on some concert DVDs, but typically, just hitting play (enter?) will start the DVD when it has a menu, so you shouldn't really even need to see the menu. If that didn't work, you could engage the parking brake at a stop light, navigate the menu to start the concert, and then disengage the parking brake. The center console DVD player will also play DVD audio discs, which are, unfortunately, rare.
