I am planning on getting winter tires and rims and asking the tire shop to store my summer ones. In the spring I would switch and ask them to store the winter ones.

For identification, I would like to put my name on the tires and rims (on the surface facing inward to the centre line of the car). Is there an easy way to do this?

You can get an engraving pen similar to the one below:

or use a Dremel....

Do you want to mark both the tires and the rims, or just the set?

A paint pen for the tires might work?

I use a grease pencil for the tires. Usually to mark the winter tires before removal. Since they are directional, I like to know the locations (ie. RR, RF, LR, LF) when I go to reinstall.

I would use a grease pencil or paint pen and mark the backside of the tires and rims. The paint pen is fairly permanent so you want an less conspicuous location
