How can i make the rear of my hood sit up?

I've seen this done before on 240sx's. Wondering if its just washers, or more complicated. Seems like it would help things stay cool under there.

When I've seen it...it was just like 4 or 5 washers stacked up.

You need a longer bolt and a few washers - I used 3 on my S14.

And it helps to remove the rubber molding that seals the hood if it were still in the OEM location...

sweet, thanks for the info. I'll check it out after work. Im gonna emit so much heat, cars behind me will burst info flames.

I used 6 washers on the drivers side(three per bolt) and 4 on the passengers side. (two per bolt) stock bolts. i wanted it a little higher on the drivers side.

cost was 1.86 and woth every penny!

i did this to my hood, but ended up taking them off. i didn't really like the look of my hood not being flush...

I didnt do it for looks I did to make my engine run cooler.I also took the weather strip off of the fire wall.

It gets very hot in Orlando!

if you lift the hood and/or remove the weather seal you allow odors from the engine like fuel or EXHUAST ,if you dont have well sealed pipes, to enter through the fresh air intake for your heater/ A/C located in the cowl.

Im takin care of all my exhaust leaks this week, so I should be all good. thanks for the tip though, didnt think about that
