How can I make my front bumper fit? - just short 1 inch on both sides.

I ran into a snag during my wide body install (front bumper) on my '90 240SX and hope I can get some recommendations. The sides of the front bumber (Extreme Dimensions GP-1) are about 1-inch shy of fitting in the wheel well only in the top corners (bottoms wrap around ok.. but as I move up in the wheel well, I lose the fit). The only options I can see having are:1. Cut along the corner seam... stretch the inner fender out... then rebuild with fiberglass2. Shave the inner part of the top fender/bumper right off. I have a feeling this option won't look good since there's no way to secure that top corner near the sidemarker light nicely.

Any other suggestions? Has anyone run into this issue before?I would post pictures (that I took) but not sure how to do that.

P.S. - thanks to everyone who have been posting on fender and widebody installs - it's been helping me tremendously!

Way to help out guys, jeez.

Can't really tell you how to make if fit better, but to get pictures up you have to upload them to a photo sharing website like photobucket, then upload them from your computer, then copy and paste the link.

Holy hell that's bad. Take pics and email them. Also notify Nico mods / Greg. They are a sponsor here (I think they still are), and if they want to make it right they should replace that for you.

Thanks to those who provided constructive input.. It looks like I'll be cutting and pasting it all back together. Before I can do that I'll ned to fit the front bumper brace back on. With the brace and styrofoam, it was 2" too far out and 2" too low. Everything I've read so far makes it look like this is common with all Fiberglass front bumper replacements/mods.I plan on making a new rail, packed with new foam.

I had the same problem with the same bumper (urethane version). At least it was a somewhat flexible and I was able to wrapped around the fenders...If yours is fiberglass should be an easy fix, just cut and extend with new FB for a better fit. The only way I was able to fit the side markers was to glue double side 3M tape to the back of the reflective lense. Then tape the lense to the bumper, dont bother using the rear clamp or any hardware, the bumper is just too thick to get the marker all the way thru the fender.

Thanks amolao,Some good advice on calling the manufacturer - so I'll do that first before cutting (since there's no way to wrap around without breaking the fiberglass). Hadn't thought about the sidemarkers - it's a good thing you're telling me about it now before I spend a few hours just staring at it.I'll keep you posted. What did you do with the front bumper brace? I'm shaving the styrofoam but it's still out and low

There is not enough room for the foam insert, take it out. But I was replacing a 1991 chuki bumper, not sure of how room you might have in your pignose. At least you got the FB version, the urethane fit is the about the same and you get stuck with it (plus you pay more $$$$). You are going to find issues with most of aftermarket kit pieces out there. The way this bumper wraps around the fenders (side marker issues,etc..) is what really sucks about it.

If I was to buy another bumper ever again, I would go OEM or buy the simplest design FB available out there and make it fit.
