Metra should make an integration harness for this application. I have done bose integration stuff on my old I30 and did an intense writeup of it. Im not familiar with the altima bose setups in the 06's but im sure that it is similar work.

I believe there is an external amp for all the speakers and the HU sends the signals to that amp. It is possible to do, despite what many audio shops say that you need this garbage and that garbage to make it work and they oversell to you. The metra harness can come in two versions, one that has just wire leads that are meant to use the amp of the new hu to drive the speakers or you can get the version with RCA's plugs that can go into the RCA terminals of a new HU. Since BOSE, im sure has an external amp, it accepts a low level signal like an RCA signal from the hu and processes that. If you choose to use the amp leads to send a signal, the signal will be very unclean and yield distortion, not exactly the best alternative. You can also sometimes get a scosche type converter that will take the amplifer signal from a new HU, condition the signal, and translate it into a lowlevel signal for RCA adapation to the system. This converter works quite well as it usually eliminates the pop of the amp as well as ground loop interference. I used the metra harness with RCA in my old car and had the pop noise of the amp turning on and off as well as alt whine. I bought a ground loop iso and it fixed both issues.

One issue to note with themetra harness is that depending on the voltage of the preouts on the new hu, your sound can be lowering because the voltage isnt as high as the bose preouts. You canget a line driver to solve this issue though.

This post is just meant to give you input and to let you know there is hope and you do have alternatives in the matter. BOSE blows when it comes to integration and although it can sound good really isnt the best alternative to do great sound at an affordable price.

There are def better people who can be more specific on here and i hope they chime in as my advice really ends here on the matter.

Good luck!
