Depending on what you are looking for, and how much you are willing to spend, there are things you can do.msp wrote:I'm going to install a Fujita cold air intake this weekend. What else can be done to increase hp?
I am in general agreement. Although, note that the HP will not increase by much, but the torque increase will be quite a lot and very, very noticeable increase in peeling-out performance!rsg123 wrote:Trade it in for an M45.
sorry...I'm not usually "that guy" but I couldn't resist.

Nope, twin turbo M35. $6K and streetable 400+ hp, 400+ torque is the best way to go...Ends up the same cost as the M45...kmk786 wrote:

I love and totally agree with your response!!mexillis wrote:^ why not both?
maybe different ppl have diff. way of thinking. but basic idea is to equate dollars spent to hp gain. now any car is FI or Supercharge-able but do you want to do is a different question. the M series are high 4 close 5 tons so do i want to FI such a heavy car??? my answer is no.mexillis wrote:^ why not both?
i dont think it's about mod because once you mod any car, that mod-bug is stuck with you regardless of what cars you drive. i guess the comparison isn't ideal but would you FI a Beamer 750IL? or a Lex LS460? i think of the M as a luxury car so i'm going to forgo the cost of FI or supercharge it. the money spent vs the hp gain arent there. if i want a fast car, i'm going to start with a car that doesn't require me to spent wad of cash for minimal gain.M4T5 wrote:I love and totally agree with your response!!mexillis wrote:^ why not both?
Some people just cant stand modifications is what it comes down to.
200K life span?? I dont think I would want to own it for that long.
About 80-95K and it's going be exchanged for something else.

Wow, I didnt know the M was almost 10,000 pounds..what an oinker!!cruzad3r wrote: the M series are high 4 close 5 tons so do i want to FI such a heavy car??? my answer is no.
Enigma, are you from Europe? I know the old forum used to tell where most of us were, but to the best of my knowledge, the new one doesn't (read: I jumped to your profile and didn't see). I agree, that 2240 pounds is technically a (long/weight/gross [UK]) ton, but 2205.623 pounds (1000kg) is also technically a (metric) ton, which I would think would now be used in Europe. In the US, where I believe most (but definitely not all) of the members of this forum reside, a (short/net [US]) ton is 2000 pounds, but even then, it is true that, if 3832 lbs was the actual weight of his vehicle and not the base curb weight of a basic 06, it would be 168 pounds shy of two tons.EniGmA1987 wrote:A ton is 2,240 pounds, I *think* the weight of an 06 M35 is 3832 lbs. (taken from Motortrend.com). So the M is 648 lbs. less than two tons.
lol - you don't think the M series are heavy car?dvan wrote:Wow, I didnt know the M was almost 10,000 pounds..what an oinker!!cruzad3r wrote: the M series are high 4 close 5 tons so do i want to FI such a heavy car??? my answer is no.
