Just an FYI, but UpGuard customer support is NOTORIOUS for being piss poor. Personally, I wouldn't trust anything they say even if they are the creators of the product. They SUCK at support and want their resellers/reps handling customers. I'd trust their actual sales reps (tuners) far more. To that end, I would reach out to Seymore4 (on here) who is the M Forum's go to UpRev tuner.
As someone who works in IT and deals with firmwares, etc...I don't see why UpRev needs to know what OEM software is installed on your ECU (they'll be overwriting it anyway). Take for example my Android smart phone (Pixel 2 XL)...I can install any version of Android on it so long as that version (read: software package/zip file) has support for my HARDWARE within its code. Not the other way around. Hardware, once built, is static/unchanging. Software is constantly changing. As long as the firmware UpRev releases can communicate with the chips, etc. on the OEM ECU (based on part #/hardware), it doesn't matter what current software you have installed. It's a bit early in the day so hopefully that made sense.
Have you cross referenced your ECU part number against UpRev's database? Usually they can unlock an ECU that isn't listed for an extra fee (Joe/Seymore4 will handle that).
