I am having an absolutely impossible time of getting a dealership to honor the full seatbelt warranty. The most I was able to get was for the lap belt. Nobody says that the s13 automatic shoulder belts are covered.

Could I trouble one of you dealership techs to provide me with the phone number you call to ask Nissan about warranties and the name of someone to speak to who you know will give out accurate information on the seatbelt warranty? Every time I go to the dealerships they call and talk to a different person and get a different variation of the story. I'd like to give them a number and name so I know they'll get the right story once and for all.

If one of you could find time to do this for me, I'd greatly appreciate it and would most certainly owe you a big favor.

Nissan no longer operates out of gardena. They have uprooted ALL adminstrative and technical operations and moved to Nashville and Smyrna, Tennessee. The phone number is still valid though.

If you give me your VIN I can check the warranty status on your car as well as check the coverage of the part you are concerned with. What part exactly is failing? Some parts arent covered. The lap belt, the retractor motor, the track are all covered up to I believe 92 for lifetime.

The parts in need of replacement are the lap belt assembly and the rear limit switch for the automatic shoulder belt. Both are driver side, though I wouldn't expect that to matter.

One of the dealerships also mentioned something about a recall involving the seatbelts. If it's no extra trouble I'd be interested to know exactly what that is for.

Many thanks.

Your car was originally sold at peltier nissan in Tyler TX. it is a 90 Se fastback with 5 spd trans and federal emissions. It has an outstanding seat belt recal for the front seat belt buckles Id number is p5111 and the TSB ref# is 95v-103. You need to get this done. This is the recall you are reffering to. all it is is the 2 front lap belt buckles. The red button tends to break in them and they dont latch. That is covered and will be done by ANY nissan dealer at no cost to you. in 1995 both your front seat belt assemlies were replaced.

I have attached a screen shot of you warranty info page.

whowee finding the coverage of the parts took some work with the warranty manaul. There is a glitch in the warranty program. It doesnt show the section for the belt motor and associated parts. how ever when you go to the dealer for the repair , tell them to look up the coverage using the PNC code which is 86910. Tell them to not search the VK section on the warranty manaul and just leave that section set to "please select" your coverage is "SB" It is for the life of the vehicle on all cars from 1989 to 2002 anything 2003 and newer coverage is 10yrs unlimited miles. Your parts are covered and with this info givin to the warranty clerk they will find the coverage. It is in the "VL" section which doesnt appear in the list but will if serched with the PNC code.

I have no clue what you just said, but I'm sure they will when I repeat it to them. Many thanks to you, good sir! I can't imagine how, but if I can ever return the favor please don't hesitate to let me know.

Your welcome. The only problem I found with it was the coverage does not list the labor time to replace it. That though is not your problem. That is the warranty clerks problem as he will need to aquire that from nissan warranty dept. Your part is 100% covered regardless.
