I used to have this guy with his GN around where I live always raceing me when I had my 77 280z with the v8......needless to say he never won but it was always a good race. I didn't even like the fu(ker and evertime I would beat him he wouldn't even look at me. And then another day he would try to sneak up to me to race me. Then I would see him at autozone and he would like wait in his car for me to come out so he could follow me out on the street. I think he was a little physco......or maybe I was the one that was physco....muhhhaaamuhhhhaaaa

My wife drove an '87 GN, when we met. She got rid of it, before we started getting serious. With the Stage III chip, the car was fun to drive!

Someday, I will get me one, as a fourth car...

!!!SWEET MERCIFUL CRAP! i want one! i used to think they looked kinda funny, but damn it grows on you. id slap some old black rims on it, or at least chip those a little, maybe paint a fender red or something. then to top it off, slap a Firebird sticker on the hood.

I had an '84 T-type, but I sold it a month ago and I already miss it.I remember when I first got it my dad wanted to race me in his ;89 vette he had then. I wasn't going to at first, but I ended up beating him by 3 cars!! He pulled me hard out of the hole, like 4 cars, but when the turbo spooled, I pulled him so hard he couldn't believe it. That was the first time I realized how fast these cars were and can be.:D

Almost the same as the GN.I think that most were Gray/silver.

If you’re up on the history of OEM power-adders, you know that it took GM quite a while to get their 3.8-liter V6 up into the big power numbers—first, with turbos that Buick worked up for the Regal T-Type, Grand National and GNX models, then with the supercharged mills that the high-end Pontiac Bonnevilles and Buick Park Avenues have sported in recent years.

Repoman could tell you everything you wanted to know about Turbo Buicks. He has had 3 in his family. From what I remember, the T-Type was a Turbo Buick Regal that came in colors like Gun Metal Grey and White. It did not have the GN badges and I dont think they came in black. The GN only came in black and had front bucket seats where as the T Type was a bench.

Jezter-Dont for get the Grand Prix and the GS also sported the supercharged 3.8 and now the Imapala SS will sport it as well.

too bad they were never offered with a manual though:(

ever see some of the odd things people put the turbo 3.8 in?

I think my favorite was a 13 second Cadillac Fleetwood...

Man I love GNs. They are just too sweet. I almost bought one when I was 16 for my first car but my Dad didn't like the price tag :(

So i ended up with a '86 Monte Carlo LS which looked good but wasn't nearly as fast. I miss that car though but I would have rather had the GN booya :D

How about the SS with ye olden 3.8 turbo thrown in. Best of both worlds.

They were available in other colors, mine was maroon. Actually the newer supercharged 3.8 put down lower numbers than the earlier turbo 3.8s.

Oh, and the t-types have a differrent "turbo 6" looking emblem on them.

HESCO, in Birmingham put the 3.8 turbo in a BMW 325. That little car would scoot!

I even heard of one in a Miata, but have no proof. I think the best swap for the Miata, is the 5.0 Ford, aka "Monster Miata"
