How Big is Reserve on QX4?

I have a 2002 QX4 and i am wondering how big the reserve tank is. Cause when i fill up after the light comes on i only get roughly 16 gallons and it says that the tank is 21.1 gallons. Wondering if something is wrong with my QX4.

Nothing is wrong.Like most companies Infiniti gas gauges are conservative.Meaning there is always more gas in it than indicated ,for safety.

Your gas tank does indeed hold 21.1 gallons, when I buy a new car I often run it until it's dry, to get a feel for where the gas gauge stands when it's about to run out.

My 02 QX4 is the same as yours, about 16 gallons to fill in when low gas light comes on. BTW I read that running gas too low is not good for the gas pump, because gas also serves as the pump heatsink...

yes running the gas too low is not good.For the exact reason you mentioned.But doing it once is not undue risky in my opinion.
